Topology View
The Topology View presents a visual representation of the physical topology of the platform. This can be used to get a high-level picture of the physical architecture of the platform.
Platform Blueprint
The example blueprint topology above can be described as having the following components:
- A
Load Balancerfor directing traffic to the actual application servers. - An
admincompute group which hosts the WebLogicAdminServerinside it. - A
portalcompute group which hosts thewcp_clusterandadf_cluserWebLogic clusters. These clusters would have theWebCenter PortalandADFproducts (application components) running inside them. The clusters would span all the compute nodes which would be part of this compute group. - A
soacompute grop which hosts thesoa_cluster,osb_clusterandwsm_clusterWebLogic clusters. These clusters would have theSOA Suite,Service BusandWeb Services Managerproducts (application components) running inside them. The clusters would span all the compute nodes which would be part of this compute group. - A
webcompute group which hosts theOracle Traffic Directorweb server.
Platform Model / Instance
The example model topology above can be described as having the following components:
- A
Load Balancerfor directing traffic to the actual application servers. - An
admincompute node which hosts the WebLogicAdminServerinside it. - A
portal01compute node which hosts thewcp_server1andadf_server1WebLogic managed servers. These servers would have theWebCenter PortalandADFproducts (application components) running inside them respectively. - A
portal02compute node which hosts thewcp_server2andadf_server2WebLogic managed servers. These servers would have theWebCenter PortalandADFproducts (application components) running inside them respectively. - A
soa01compute node which hosts thesoa_server1,osb_server1andwsm_server1WebLogic managed servers. These servers would have theSOA Suite,Service BusandWeb Services Managerproducts (application components) running inside them respectively. - A
soa02compute node which hosts thesoa_server2,osb_server2andwsm_server2WebLogic managed servers. These servers would have theSOA Suite,Service BusandWeb Services Managerproducts (application components) running inside them respectively. - A
soa03compute node which hosts thesoa_server3,osb_server3andwsm_server3WebLogic managed servers. These servers would have theSOA Suite,Service BusandWeb Services Managerproducts (application components) running inside them respectively. - A
web01compute node which hosts theOracle Traffic Directorweb server. - A
web02compute node which hosts theOracle Traffic Directorweb server.
We can see from both these diagrams how easy it is to quickly get an idea of the physical architecture of a platform as well as how a generic architecture blueprint can be conceived of.
